Singer, songwriter Cosima De Vito, needs no introduction to the Australian public. A much loved contestant on the first season of Australian Idol in 2003, she developed a huge following that led to a number one single and Platinum selling album. Like her Idol contemporaries, Guy Sebastian, Kelly Clarkson, Shannon Noll & Jennifer Hudson, she has now forged her own artistic career and is ready to further showcase her incredible talent with a new album.

Part I
In her younger years Cosima was influenced by her gifted Grandfather, an Italian tenor, who inspired her with Neapolitan and opera. Her first language is Italian and she is well known to that audience through appearances at numerous festivals across the country and a genuine love for her throughout the Italian community.
She took her first tentative steps to a singing career at the age of nine when she entered her first talent quest - without telling her parents!  With a song in her heart and a fierce determination in her soul, Cosima performed the classic ballad "The Greatest Love Of All" … and walked off with first prize!

Not long after her Idol success in 2003, Cosima celebrated her debut CD release with a memorable version of the Cold Chisel classic When The War Is Over. Entering the chart at number one she made history as the first independent artist to achieve that status in Australia. The single was certified gold on debut, quickly growing beyond platinum in the weeks that followed.  She went ahead and received two Aria Awards for the single.
Following on from her triumphant single debut, Cosima released her first, self titled album in 2004, recorded with world renowned singer, songwriter & producer Diane Warren (Celine Dion, Toni Braxton,& many more) by invitation. The album entered the chart at number two and achieved gold status on release, selling over 45,000 copies.
In 2004 Cosima went on to perform on channel 7's hit show "Dancing with the Stars". At the request of former Prime Minister John Howard  Cosima was invited to perform at Mr Howards 30 year anniversary in Parliament Gala dinner. Cosima was invited by invitation to perform at the Dream Foundation's Annual Gala dinner in LA where she performed Diane Warren's, (patron) hit, Because You Loved Me". She was voted Best New Artist for Pop Republic Magazine, and she performed at channel 7's Carols by Candlelight.

Part II -Keeping It Natural
Keeping active on the live circuit, Cosima has entertained crowds at a number of live appearances including supporting multi platinum selling artist Roachford  in 2005 and Demis Roussos in 2006. She has performed the Australian National Anthem and her own repertoire at various events including headlining NBL All Stars game, Queensland’s Big Gay Out, NRL games and many more.
Late 2005 Cosima was approached by production conglomerate The Essex Boys, made up of former Escape Club members Trevor Steel & John Holliday and London based programmer Lee Groves. Alongside a number one U.S. hit for The Escape Club members, their production credits include Sting, Shaggy, & more. As a programmer Lee Groves credits include working with Gwen Stefani, Janet Jackson,Black Eyed Peas & more. Their desire to work with Cosima was further testimony to her international appeal.

In October 2006, her debut single, When The War Is Over  re-entered the Australian Independent Charts at an astonishing number 11, more than 2 years after it debuted at number one on the ARIA Charts.

Alongside the aforementioned production team, a new management deal was secured with Dorry Kordahi Management and, as a result, a fresh team has formed to compliment Cosima’s unique talent. Internationally Cosima's appeal has resulted in her securing US representation through the prestigious William Morris Agency whose roster includes Alicia Keys, OutKast and Aretha Franklin.
In 2007, Cosima headlined her first concert at South Juniors Football Club. She performed the national anthem at the Australia VS England Cricket final at the Sydney Cricket Ground in front of 40,000 spectators. She debuted her new single "Keep It Natural" at Sydney Entertainment Centre for the NBL's Sydney Kings v Brisbane Bullets. In July she starred in the musical, HAIR, for a three week sellout season. Establishing herself as a Gay Diva Cosima went on to headline Zircus Sleazeball  and Gay Fair Day in Sydney.

Cosima’s first single in two years, Keep It Natural was released in June 2007.  Written by Cosima and reknown UK writer/producer Trevor Steel it showcased a bold new sound. No longer is Cosima simply about pretty ballads.  Keep It Natural proved to be a dance floor hit and charted in the top 30 ARIA club charts and stayed there for 8 weeks peaking at number 4 on the Australian Independent Charts also for 8 weeks. It was placed on Melbourne's Joy FM's Vol. 5 Compilation CD. The Italian version of Keep It Natural written by Cosima proved a success as she headlined Italian National Day Festivities in Melbourne and Sydney.

Cosima's second album, THIS IS NOW was released in September 2007. It is a collection of mostly self-penned tracks that strongly reflect her personal journey.   Stand out tracks include LEFT WAITING (written by The Veronicas), NEVER BE A WOMAN IN CHAINS and FOREVER ch Cosima wrote when she was 16 in dedication to her mother.
MOVIN ON was the 2nd single to be lifted off THIS IS NOW.  Remixed once again by Alex Taylor (who also remixed the first single KEEP IT NATURAL) it is an anthemic pop track, which sounds fresh and funky on radio and on the dance floor.  Sydney filmmaker Luke Eve (Tropfest winner 2005) produced the video clip.

At the beginning of 2008 Cosima held 14 concerts with her band promoting her new album, This Is Now. at Slide Nightclub and Supper Club in Sydney; Headlined World Aids Day in Melbourne, and performed at numerous gay clubs around the country. She recently shot her first and widely anticipated DVD in Brisbane. Cosima has recently become the National Ambassador for Life House Project, a charity aimed at providing young girls with the necessary skills to be confident and successful young women. Cosima's recent involvement with I.F.A.W. stems from her love of animals. She has taken part in a series of commercials along side other I.F.A.W friends to improve animal welfare.
