STEPHEN ABBOTT: THE SANDMAN

Stephen Abbott is an enduring part of the Australian comedy landscape. While performing regularly as the Sandman or 'Sandy', Stephen has also found time to become an accomplished live performer, radio presenter, writer and actor.

As the Sandman, Stephen has performed on a number of different radio and TV programs, including ABC TV's The Fat with Tony Squires and his ABC radio serial The 21st; a radio serial called Sunstruck Guest House and Triple J's Breakfast with Adam and Wil. Sandy also co-hosted Triple J's breakfast program with Mikey Robins and Jen Oldershaw.

Stephen regularly performs as Sandy on TV programs, such as The Fat on ABC TV and Good News Week; on two TV specials with fellow comedian Flacco, and on his own special on Network Ten, Speed of Doubt.

The Sandman is hugely popular on the corporate circuit and promises a seasoned, nostalgic comedy.

TRIPOD

Tripod is an Australian musical comedy act, specialising in improv, parody and satire. As its name suggests, the band is a trio; it comprises Scod (Scott Edgar), Yon (Simon Hall) and Gatesy (Steven Gates). The trio cover a wide variety of performance styles, from soft ballads to hard rock, usually performing these songs with only the aid of Scod (and, at times, Gatesy) playing acoustic guitar.

At times they feature humorous sounds, such as Yon and his Flute from the Open Slather album, but their particular brand of humour stems from the lyrics of their songs and the comedic timing, often including the three men bickering on stage. The lyrics are often satirical or off-beat, and topics have included movie-style martial arts, stalking, interesting Shakespearean-era words, and counterterrorism.

CHRIS BENNETT

Chris Bennett has been performing as a stand-up comedian ever since he discovered his family was a captive audience. He has entertained the widest variety of crowds from AFL football club functions to high-profile corporate events. His television credits include performances on shows such as Hey Hey It's Saturday and In Melbourne Tonight.

Chris has also made his presence felt on commercial radio, starting with Gold FM writing for the breakfast show as well as performing on-air segments.

Following on from Gold, and after a highly successful stint on Triple M, he moved into the hot spot with Fox FM's number 1 rating breakfast show.
These days, Chris has opted for sleep over breakfast and has returned to Triple M part-time whilst concentrating on his first love – stand-up! Not only is Chris a seasoned performer going from strength to strength, he is also extremely funny.

NELSON TWINS

The Nelson Twins are one of the most unique stand up comedy acts in the world. Raised in rural New South Wales, they have been performing as a duo for the past 6 years. From their humble beginnings in 2006, the twins have fast become one of the most sort after double acts in Australia, dazzling corporate and club crowds alike with their cheeky humour.

Their big bush ranger beards and cracking one liner jokes are just a part of an amazing act never before seen on the comedy circuit. The boys are constantly bickering amongst themselves on stage and are never afraid to tackle a comment from an audience member.
They have won several comedy awards in their short career and shown their versatility by performing to sold out audiences in Edinburgh during the 2010 Fringe Festival.

Their TV credits include Australia's Got Talent, The Footy Show, NBC's Last Comic Standing, 2010 Australian IQ Test and a host of TV commercials. In addition, the twins are regular guests on local radio stations offering their opinions on a range of topics from sibling rivalry to the war in Afghanistan.

As well as being talented actors and comedians the boys have put their writing skills to good use and formulated a curriculum based program for secondary schools. Their ability to adapt material to young and older audiences makes them a ‘must see’ for your next event.

These fellas are destined to be household names – they’ve got wit, intelligence and fantastic comic timing. I hate them.
- Jeff Green (International Comedian)

The Nelson Twins are a gift to the Comedy Industry. Inspiring and hilarious, one of my truly favourite acts.
- Fiona O'Loughlin (MICF Barry Award Nominee)
